In 1999 Richard launched and developed a commercial business importing and designing ranges of contract furniture and accessories manufactured in Asia. From inception the business expanded profitably, employing at its peak nine members of staff. Throughout this time a considerable focus was dedicated to creating a recognisable brand within the industry.
Later in life Richard went on to gain a first-class honours degree in Film, Media and Interactive Arts from Middlesex University. He is experienced in producing, directing and editing factual documentaries and corporate film promotions.
Richard will be in charge of the day-to-day operational side of the business, including research into new developments and technologies within the industry.

Steven graduated with a degree in Business & Management Studies. He recently joined ZCF full-time after working within a FTSE 100 logistics plc. He has had a variety of managerial, operational and sales roles allowing him to develop his general management skills. Notable successes have included the creation of a Contracts Department that produced complex tender submissions and costs modelling, which helped the business win £60m over three years. Steven brings his sales and account management, project planning, finance and general management skills to ZCF. His daily role within the business will predominantly be about building our customer base and liaising with new customers to manage their stock requirements.

A dynamic and highly experienced Agricultural Consultant, Chris has operated in this industry for the last 30 years, initially working for leading manufacturers of fresh produce before venturing out on his own consultancy at CN Solutions. Chris has a broad experience of growing in some of the harshest environments, proven management skills, a consistent record of success, exceptional crop knowledge and design of growing structures and irrigation systems. His expertise and advice have proved invaluable already. Chris introduced management systems for supermarket standards; M&S: Field to Fork, Tesco TQM, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Co-op.

Neil Sanderson is Managing Director of Florette UK & Ireland, parent company of fresh produce specialists Florette and Salads to Go, and part of the Agrial group of companies. Florette is the UK’s number one prepared salad brand and is stocked across major retailers and convenience stores nationwide. Salads to Go provides prepared salads and vegetables under retailer and licenced brands to both retail and food service customers. He provides ZCF with a knowledge of the fresh produce market that is second to none; his management skills will be utilised to mentor and guide the business to build a profitable family of brands.

Michel Roux Jr hails from one of most famous culinary families in the history of gastronomy while presiding over a prestigious London restaurant, Le Gavroche. An undying passion for cuisine has led him to become one of Britain’s most celebrated chefs; with a strong business expertise that has allowed him to build a group of restaurants independently and in conjunction with the fine dining arm of Compass, Restaurant Associates. All this is achieved while developing a range of knives, cookware and a television career all associated with a desire for quality. His success in business comes from understanding customers’ requirements and translating this through all his companies and brands. Within ZCF this approach will continue and guarantee that the product range is developed to offer customers a product of innovative flavours of the highest quality.

Ed Gillespie is Co-Founder of Futerra, one of the world’s only communications consultancies to specialise solely in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, where he has shaped and driven the creative direction of Futerra’s work since its foundation.Aside from writing regularly for the Guardian, Ed is a highly sought after public speaker and lecturer, renowned for his memorable and entertaining presentations laced with refreshing humour and wit.Ed is also a London Sustainable Development Commissioner, a Director of carbon emissions campaigning organisation Sandbag, Chairman of European Rail Business Loco2 and an investor in FoodTrade. Ed joins Zero Carbon Food as a Non-Executive Director.
